IT Cyber Security Analyst

Description

Due to sustained growth, AvarTec, Inc. is looking for an IT Cyber Security Analyst to help us serve small and medium-sized enterprise businesses. This role includes security scans, cyber security training management, incident response, and ongoing maintenance and management of the security stack. We offer hybrid remote working privileges to our entire team.

Responsibilities

• Independently maintain and manage security tools including network scans, penetration testing, and end user phishing campaigns and cyber security awareness training.
• Work with end user clients to review cyber security threats, assessments and vulnerabilities, while providing recommendations to enhance security.
• Provide a high level of customer service with excellent communication skills. 
• Publish reports and documentation to share with clients pertaining to their cyber security stance. 
• You will use your expertise to monitor logs for security events and alerts to potential intrusions, threats, or compromises.
• You will audit and update systems and software to maintain the latest security updates.
• You will audit and maintain systems for business continuity.
• You will maintain email filtering systems and provide triage for client reports of suspicious emails. 

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related field, Microsoft and/or CompTIA Certifications, or 4 years of experience in a similar position. 
• Strong problem solving, analytical and detail orientation. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Valid MN driver’s license with clean driving record and must possess reliable transportation to travel to client offices. 
• Highly motivated and a proven track record working with peers in a successful team. 
• Professional appearance and self-presentation. 
• Ability to learn, lead, and collaborate with the AvarTec team and it’s clients. 
• Self-starter and high achiever.

• Veeam, Rocket Cyber, Zorus, Umbrella, Datto, Huntress, Network Detective, Vulscan, Axcient, Securence, and Sentinel One. 
• Networking LAN and WAN experience with switching, VLANs, and routing. 
• Working in a team environment of an MSP supporting thousands of end-user clients. 
• Backup and disaster recovery. 
• Experience configuring network hardware firewalls including QOS, VPN, and Traffic Management. 
• Enhanced security with MFA,VLANs and WIFI.
• Cloud services, archiving, and failover for servers, Internet connections, etc.
